TAM HOI COOPERATION – DEVELOPING THE VALUE CHAIN IN LAO CAI FOR CASSIA

Tam Hoi Cooperative is a division of Vietnam Tropical Commodities Co., Ltd, which is one of the top units in Vietnam for producing and exporting high-quality cinnamon products directly to foreign markets such as Singapore, India, Malaysia, Israel, Turkey, and other countries. The revenue from exporting cassia is up to 80-90 billion VNĐ/year.

After just four years of operation, Tam Hoi Cooperative’s cinnamon anise purchasing facility has not ceased increasing on the scale of factory production and export markets, with a capital of up to tens of billions of dong. Processed cinnamon goods have unique needs and standards to fulfill requirements and grow exports.

Tam Hoi Cooperative is continuously mobilizing and encouraging people to cultivate cinnamon. On the other hand, seeing as laborers in the village, especially women, still have to work hard to make a living as hired laborers have to leave the countryside to make a living, we are always ready to share how to develop the economy based on cinnamon trees such as planting, tending, harvesting, preliminary processing cinnamon, consuming… not only to help people take advantage of land and labor resources, but also to create a source of raw materials.

Each month, the firm produces regular positions for 30 local workers, with a maximum of roughly 60 individuals, with an average monthly income of around 6 million VND, depending on the items the workers make (the establishment pays 25,000 VND). /hour of labor (this contract corresponds to the working hours of local employees).

To promote the potential and strength of Lao Cai cinnamon, we are focused on the creation of a national branded cinnamon product chain, in conjunction with the development of a large-scale raw material region for standard manufacturing – delivering products to customers. Getting closer to fussy nations implies more potential to raise the value of cinnamon in Lao Cai.
